Delete your account
You can ask us to delete your account and the personal data attached to it at any time. This covers every league ChipRally hosts, whether you signed in on the league's website or on your phone.
How to ask
Signed in? Open your profile and choose Delete my account. You have 7 days to change your mind.
Or ask us by email:
- Email hello@chiprally.com from the address you sign in with, and tell us which league or leagues you play in.
- We reply to confirm the request came from you before anything is removed. If you no longer have that address, say so and we will find another way to confirm it is you.
- We complete the deletion within 30 days of confirming it, and write back when it is done.
What we delete
- Your sign-in account, with the email address and password attached to it.
- Your profile: display name, photo, bio, phone number and birthday.
- Your posts, comments and reactions on the league feed.
- The private messages you wrote, and your place in those conversations. Other people keep the messages they wrote.
- Your RSVPs, notifications and email preferences.
What a league keeps
- Your finishing positions in past game nights stay in the league's records, so every other player's standings and history stay correct. Your name on them is replaced with "Former player" and a number, and they are no longer connected to you or to any contact details.
- If a venue has banned you, that ban stays on its list until it ends, and is then removed like everything else.
- If you are league staff, incident tickets you filed and your replies on them stay with the league, shown under "Former player" and a number.
- Result announcements on the league feed show "Former player" and a number instead of your name. Copies already shared to outside sites such as X or Facebook cannot be changed.
- Where the law requires us or a league to keep a record, we keep only that record, and only for as long as it is required.
- A league you own and pay for stays, with its players and results. Its paid plan is cancelled when your account is deleted, with no refund for the rest of the period, and the league moves to the Free plan.
Backups
Deleted data ages out of our backups on their normal schedule: off-site backups within 28 days and database snapshots within 7 days.
